Love, War, and the Sea in Between
Josh Garrels’ newest album Love, War, and the Sea In Between is the soundtrack to my life right now. Simple as that. The earthy music as paired with the poesy and vivid imagery of his lyrics make faith tastable and hope like the touch of a hand in mine on just about a daily basis. Therefore, he must be shared. The entirely delightful thing is that this album is offered as a free download on Garrels’ website. Without further ado, I beg you to head straight there and get that music. I dare you not to love him.

And in case you need a further bit of prodding, here are a few lines from Ulysses, one of my favorite songs on the album:
Sorrow has beset my ways and wicked winds have blown.
Sirens call my name, they say they’ll ease my pain
Then break me on the stones.
But true love is the burden that will carry me back home,
Carry me with the memories of the beauty I have known.
I’m sailing home to you, I won’t be long.
By the lighted moon, I will press on.
Until I find my love.
